We inspect, document, and navigate your storm damage claim — adjuster meetings, supplements, depreciation recovery. Goal: zero out-of-pocket beyond your deductible.
Get a Free EstimateNavigating a homeowner's insurance claim for roof or storm damage is confusing, time-consuming, and the system is not set up to favor you. Insurance companies are businesses — they have adjusters whose job is to assess damage, and those adjusters sometimes miss things, undervalue damage, or write scopes that don't account for current labor and material costs. We help level the playing field.
Fortified Home Solutions provides insurance claims assistance at no additional cost as part of every storm and insurance restoration project we handle. We've worked on hundreds of insurance claims across Alabama and we know how the process works — from the first call to the insurance company all the way through final supplement checks and depreciation recovery.
One of the most common mistakes homeowners make is signing a contract with a contractor before the insurance company has approved the claim. We don't ask you to do that. We inspect the damage, document everything, help you file the claim, and assist at the adjuster visit. Once the claim is approved, we discuss the scope of work and you decide whether to move forward with us.
The supplement process is where a lot of money gets left on the table. Initial insurance estimates frequently miss items — code upgrades required by Alabama building code, manufacturer-required materials like drip edge and ice and water shield, permit fees, dumpster costs, and more. We know what's supposed to be in an insurance scope and we fight for it. Our goal is for your out-of-pocket cost to be nothing beyond your deductible — and sometimes even the deductible has options.
Photographs, written damage assessment, and organized documentation in the format insurance adjusters are trained to evaluate. We've done hundreds of these.
We can be present when your adjuster comes out. Two sets of eyes on the damage means less chance of things being missed or undervalued.
We review your initial insurance estimate and identify missing line items — code upgrades, required materials, permit costs. We prepare and submit supplements on your behalf.
If you have RCV (replacement cost value) coverage, you're entitled to recover depreciation after repairs are complete. We help you document and submit the recoverable depreciation claim.
Our goal is for you to pay nothing beyond your deductible. On properly documented claims with RCV coverage, that goal is realistic in most cases.
We don't waive or "work around" deductibles. That's insurance fraud and it puts you at legal risk. We work within the system — and we work it well.
No. Call us first. We'll inspect the damage and tell you whether it's worth filing a claim before you do anything that could affect your premium.
A supplement is an additional payment request to your insurance company for items missed in the original estimate. We handle supplements routinely — it's normal and expected on most larger claims.
ACV (actual cash value) pays you what the damaged items are worth today, minus depreciation. RCV (replacement cost value) pays what it costs to replace them new. Most policies are RCV — check yours.
It's possible, but storm damage claims are generally treated differently than liability claims. Talk to your agent about your specific policy before deciding. We can help you think through it.
We inspect your roof and property, document all damage, and give you our honest assessment of whether a claim is worthwhile based on your deductible and the damage scope.
We walk you through filing the claim with your insurer and help you describe the damage accurately and completely.
We can be present when your adjuster comes out. We point out damage that's easy to miss and make sure the adjuster's scope is complete.
We review your insurance company's scope and estimate. We identify missing items and prepare a supplement request if needed.
Once the claim is approved and we've agreed on scope, we complete the restoration. We document completion for depreciation recovery.
After repairs are done, we help you submit the recoverable depreciation claim to get your final insurance payment. Most homeowners leave this money unclaimed.
Call us before you call your insurance company. We'll inspect, document, and help you get what you're owed. Serving all of North and Central Alabama — no charge for inspection.
